Read-a-Thon

• Classroom minutes, as set by teacher

• All minutes read for homework

• All minutes read for fun (books, magazines, comics, etc)

• All minutes being read to (older kids or adults, Epic, audio books, etc)

You can Include any time where you include any time where your student is spending time with books or reading. This includes books without words, the back of the cereal box, or even movie captions.

CES PTO works to provide both in-school & family activities for th school community. The Read-a-Thon is our primary fundraising effort that supports all of these activities.

• curriculum supplies like sports nets for the gym and reading books

Students can submit an original bookmark design to their teacher. Bookmarks will be voted on during Family Reading Night. The winning bookmarks will be distributed to students who have returned their Read-a-Thon envelope.

• Or through our online portal. Make sure to check the option to not pay a service fee for your donation.

All students regardless of how much money they raised or minutes the red can earn a prize by just returning their envelope to their classroom. There are a few additional prizes to the ones listed on the envelope:

• The classroom in each grade that returns the most envelopes gets a bonus recess.

• If the entire school reads 140,000 minutes Mr. Hakala will dress up in a crazy costume for a day.
